WHATS NEW ! PODCAST:
Adolescent Self-Harming Behavior THERAPEUTIC MOMENTS THAT COUNT THE PATHWAYS
TO POSSIBILITIES PROGRAM |
Through its strengths-based and positive core assumptions about individuals, relationships, and organizations, the Solution-Oriented Supervision and Management approach places a strong emphasis on what individuals, work teams, and the organization are doing right, rather than what is supposed to be wrong. Solution-Oriented supervisors and managers inquiry with their staff about their past and present successes and draw upon their imagination powers and creativity to strengthen and create possibilities in their relationships with clients, colleagues, and in the organization as a whole. Unlike many work settings, where there is a rigid hierarchy or line workers’ voices are not heard or welcomed when it comes to important decision-making, Solution-Oriented supervisors and managers strive to create non-hierarchical, cooperative, and collaborative relationships with their staff. In Solution-Oriented organizations, the work climate is filled with humor and playfulness, staff are passionate about their work, there is a strong thirst for learning, all staff voices are honored, staff appreciate and respect one another, and the quality and quantity of creative ideas generated by the staff tends to be at a high level. This “hands-on” workshop is specifically designed for supervisors, managers, and administrators working in social service, healthcare, school, and corporate settings. As a result of attending this workshop, participants will learn the following:
The workshop format will include information-rich didactic presentation with skill-building exercises.
