Partners for Collaborative Solutions Launches an Innovative Solution-Oriented and Narrative Therapy-Informed Outpatient Program for At-Risk Adolescents and their Families

THE PATHWAYS TO POSSIBILITIES PROGRAM

PATHWAYS TO POSSIBILITIES is a teen-friendly, collaborative strengths-based program run by Partners for Collaborative Solutions for at-risk youth and their families. This 9-week innovative youth empowerment program can serve as a prevention intervention for teens who are engaging in high-risk behaviors and as a highly structured and comprehensive aftercare program to further consolidate teens’ gains and help them stay on track following discharge from hospital and residential treatment programs. We welcome youth who have experienced difficulties with depression, self-harming, eating-distressed, and substance abuse behaviors.

What is unique about the Pathways to Possibilities Program, is that the teen and his or her family is invited to determine their treatment goals, choose which treatment modalities and services they wish to pursue, and be the lead authors of their Blueprint Plan for Change. After completing the program, teen participants are further empowered by providing prevention workshops at area schools and involvement in social action projects in their communities. Finally, teen and parent graduates are invited to return as guest consultants to share their wisdom and expertise with newcomers to the program.

Our program offers the following treatment modalities and services:

  • Stress-Busters’ Leadership Groups
  • Solution-Oriented Parenting Groups
  • Family therapy
  • Individual therapy
  • Art therapy
  • Expressive writing
  • Mindfulness meditation training
  • Yoga
  • Collaboration and advocacy with schools and other systems
